Which rules apply to christmas toys
- Christmas toys follow the standard toy certification (part 1252, lead, phthalates, small parts) with one structural difference: Q4 deadlines mean testing must be booked months earlier. Every year, sellers miss the season because the certificate wasn’t ready when the buying order was placed.

The testing and certification path
The toy-standard testing applies in full — mechanical, lead, phthalates, small parts — and the Q4 import wave means ports and laboratories are congested exactly when you need them. Certificates ready by early fall are the operational difference between selling in November and clearing customs in January.
Book testing at a laboratory that is CPSC-accepted for each rule, issue the CPC in your own name citing the rules your report supports, and keep the certificate with its test report for at least five years. Marketplaces ask for the pair, not the certificate alone.
