Questions people ask
How much duty will I pay importing from China?
Three layers as of September 2026: the product’s MFN rate, its Section 301 list rate (7.5–25%), and the 2025–26 additional actions (widely reported around 30% during the truces). That stack runs from roughly 30% to 55%+ of customs value for most consumer goods — look up your exact product in the HS code finder, then price the whole shipment in the calculator.
Do small parcels still enter the US duty-free?
No. The $800 de-minimis exemption ended August 29, 2025 (China/HK parcels lost it in May 2025). Every import now clears with duties and fees, which is why landed-cost math matters even for sample orders.
Where do these numbers come from?
The bundled dataset ships typical heading-level MFN rates and Section 301 assignments, refreshed weekly from the official USITC HTS. Fast-moving policy rates are published live from the editor on this site. Everything is an estimate until your exact 10-digit line is confirmed — the tools let you override any layer with your broker’s numbers.
