Can one CPC cover multiple products?
When grouping is legitimate
- Identical toys in different colors, where each coating and substrate color is tested.
- The same product from the same factory and molds with no material changes.
- Variant sizes with documented test coverage of the worst-case configuration.
Where grouping fails
- Different factories for “the same” product — each factory is its own production basis.
- Different materials or coatings not individually tested.
- Colorways added after certification, and accessory components changed between runs.
- A certificate that names one generic product description instead of identifying the covered models.
Questions people ask
Can one certificate cover my whole store?
No: grouping works within genuinely identical products from the same basis of manufacture. Different products need their own certificates and testing.
How do I document a grouped certificate?
List the covered models or SKUs in the product identification section, and keep the test reports mapped to the group. Ambiguity about what the certificate covers is what reviewers reject.
