Factory audit checklist (CPSIA-minded)
A CPSIA-minded factory audit asks whether the plant can build your SKU repeatably, control materials, support golden samples for labs, and document changes — not whether they once passed a social audit unrelated to your BOM. Use this checklist before wire transfers, not after Amazon suppresses ASINs.
On-site or remote audit blocks
- Business license and export entity matches RFQ counterpart.
- Production line photos match quoted capability.
- Incoming material inspection and lot traceability.
- Sample room vs mass-line separation.
- Prior test reports — verify lab acceptance and product match.
- Change-control process when resin, paint, or fabric shifts.
Red flags
- Refusal to name production site or show line.
- “Certificate included” with no lab contact.
- Pressure to skip revised sample before bulk.
