Request factory test report rights the right way
Factories sometimes offer old lab reports or third-party PDFs that do not match your importer CPC. Request explicit authorization to reference reports, verify scope with the lab, and prefer importer-directed CPSC-accepted testing on golden samples when Amazon or CPSC traceability matters.
Contract and email asks
- Right to cite report IDs on your CPC.
- Confirmation the report covers your SKU, colors, and materials.
- Lab name and accreditation suitable for cited rules.
- Commitment to retest if BOM changes.
When to run your own test
Private label, material changes, or Amazon TIC history — pay for your own accepted lab run and issue a fresh CPC.
Questions people ask
Can I photoshop the factory report?
Never — that is fraud. Retest and certify properly.
Does the factory own the report?
The lab customer matters for authorization — clarify in writing.
