Importer RFQ template (CPSIA fields)
A CPSIA-aware RFQ tells factories the product description, target channels, age grade, materials, MOQ, who pays for CPSC-accepted testing, and that the US entity will issue the CPC. Structured RFQs reduce back-and-forth and filter mills that cannot support Amazon US documentation.
Template blocks
- Product photos, dimensions, and intended age grade.
- Amazon US / other channels declared upfront.
- Material and colorway plan for test grouping.
- Sample timeline and golden sample definition.
- Testing cost split and retest expectations.
- Certifying importer legal name (your registered entity).
Post RFQ
Publish via ShadowOps suppliers after importer registration so opt-in factories respond with actionable quotes.
Questions people ask
Can I hide that I need CPC?
Bad idea — serious factories want clarity early.
MOQ in RFQ?
Yes — tie to testing economics. See MOQ negotiation guide.
