Shopify kids brands still need CPCs
Owning the storefront does not remove CPSIA. DTC Shopify brands importing or making children’s products still need CPSC-accepted testing and Children’s Product Certificates, and should keep them ready for payment processors, insurers, and regulators.
DTC compliance stack
- CPC + report per product family.
- Published safety / age information consistent with certificates.
- Recall contact path and lot traceability.
Questions people ask
Does Shopify check CPCs?
Not like Amazon’s automated asks — but legal obligations remain, and partners may request docs.
Can I sell worldwide with one CPC?
CPC is US-focused. EU/UK need separate conformity docs (e.g. DoC / EN 71).
