Amazon annual toy retest (what to refresh)

Amazon increasingly expects fresh testing evidence on children’s toy ASINs on roughly annual cycles. “Retest” means a current CPSC-accepted lab report for the configuration you ship, plus an updated CPC that cites those results — not a new government stamp.
Refresh CPC after retest

Refresh pack per ASIN family

  • Current lab report (or TIC-validated evidence).
  • CPC issued to match.
  • Tracking label evidence if asked.
  • Change log if design/factory changed mid-year.

Ops tip

Batch ASINs by factory and materials. One thoughtful lab PO beats twenty panic POs in November.

Questions people ask

Is annual retesting in the CPSIA text?

CPSIA emphasizes testing validity through change and production-gap triggers; Amazon’s commercial policy often adds annual pressure. Follow both for live ASINs.

Can I reuse last year’s CPC PDF?

Only if the underlying report still supports it and still satisfies Amazon. When you retest, reissue the CPC.
