CPSIA lab quote checklist
Ask these in writing
- Which CPSC acceptance scopes cover which rules?
- Will the report list rule citations Amazon and brokers recognize?
- How are colorways / materials priced?
- What is standard vs rush turnaround?
- Who do I contact if Amazon or a TIC questions the report?
Walk away when
The lab cannot name acceptance scopes, refuses to put the rule list in the quote, or promises “guaranteed pass.” Testing measures the product; it does not invent compliance.
Questions people ask
Should I send the Amazon ASIN to the lab?
Yes — include listing name, age grade, and model so the report can match the ASIN configuration.
Do I need one quote per SKU?
Often one program covers a family if materials match. Ask the lab; do not assume.
