Compliance tools for USA children’s product sellers

If you sell children’s products into the United States — Amazon.com, Walmart, Shopify, or wholesale — you need a CPC (or GCC), a matching CPSC-accepted lab report, tracking labels, and from July 8, 2026, eFiling-ready certificate data for most regulated imports.

Who this is for

Amazon USA FBA/FBM sellers, private-label importers, U.S. domestic brands, and agencies that prepare Seller Central compliance packets.

What you must have on file

  • Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) or GCC naming the U.S. importer or domestic manufacturer
  • CPSC-accepted third-party lab report that cites the same rules as the certificate
  • CPSIA Section 103 tracking labels on the unit and packaging
  • Document packet ready for Amazon TIC / Direct Validation when an ASIN is flagged
  • Certificate data ready for CBP/ACE eFiling (PGA Message Set) from July 8, 2026

Where sellers in United States get stuck

  • Uploading a factory “certificate” that does not name you as importer
  • Test reports older than Amazon’s acceptance window (commonly ~12 months for US toys)
  • SKU / age grade mismatch between the listing, CPC, and lab report
  • Waiting until Q4 to book labs — queues kill the holiday window

Questions sellers ask

Do I need a CPC to sell on Amazon USA?

If the product is a children’s product under CPSIA (primarily for ages 12 and under) and subject to a children’s product safety rule, yes — Amazon will eventually ask for the CPC plus the supporting lab report. Some ASINs now require TIC Direct Validation instead of a self-upload.

Is a Chinese factory CPC enough?

Only if it correctly names the U.S. importer or private labeler as the certifying party. Most factory templates name the factory — those fail Amazon and CPSC scrutiny. Issue your own from the lab data.

What changes on July 8, 2026?

Importers of most regulated consumer products must eFile certificate data with CBP via a PGA Message Set. Keep structured certificate records, not only PDFs in a drawer.
